So I recently got my Aspire Nautilus and the coils that came with it did not last more than a few days. So I did some research and found on ebay the updated BDC, (Bottom Dual Coils) that were suppose to be a new and improved version. Since I bought them I have since heard about the new Aspire Nautilus Mini that has a BVC, (Bottom Vertical Coil).

This is actually correct. I believe it was covered in one of Busardo's videos I watched recently if I'm not mistaken. You might look up his reviews on either the Nautilus Mini, or possibly even just the regular Nautilus (sorry I can't remember which video it was)..

Man, I hope they work. I've tried everything I've read to fix my Nautilus situation. I've pulled out the fabric from the inside of the heads, and the vape tastes better, but that funky taste is still lurking...and they tend to flood.

Huh?! Senior Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

I have had the exact opposite experience. I'm a chain vapor, and after about two solid hits on the BDC coils, I'm right back to that wretched burning taste. And that's with a PG/VG ratio of 70/30.

What is an Ohm. First of all, ohms represent a unit of measurement for resistance, and when it comes to vaping they translate to how difficult is for the electrical current from the battery to pass through the heating coil. The lower the resistance, the faster a coil heats up to a certain temperature and controlling this value is key in delivering ...

Why are above ohm vapes so popular?

The reason for which above ohm resistances remain popular with mouth to lung vaping is due to the restrictive draw these devices can offer and the similarities with actual cigarettes.

What is the difference between lung and mouth vaping?

And speaking about the different styles of vaping, we have two main categories of e-smokers – the ones who prefer mouth to lung hits and the ones who prefer lung hits. Mouth to lung vaping is just like puffing on an actual cigarette, with the vapor going first into the user's mouth and then lungs; while direct lung vaping means inhaling the vapor straight into the lungs.

Is vaping on a sub ohm or above ohm?

There are still people out there who prefer vaping on above ohm resistances, and their number is probably greater than that of e-smokers using sub ohm devices. While the amount of vapor produced is not as massive as with a sub ohm resistance, some people are more than satisfied with the whole experience and wouldn't trade it for something else.

Can you vape with a mouth to lung?

If you are still a smoker, want to make the transition from smoking or are a vaping beginner, then probably mouth to lung is the best option for you, as it comes as a reflex from puffing on combustible cigarettes. Inhaling vapor straight into your lungs is something that you can't do with a tobacco cigarette and this style of vaping might seem a big weird and uncomfortable at first.

Is sub ohm vaping good?

Sub ohm vaping can be very rewarding, but at the same time it has a few downsides. The first is that it's mostly suitable for direct lung inhales, which is a style of vaping not that familiar to smokers or beginners. In order to fully enjoy the big clouds you need to draw the vapor straight into the lungs, which requires a very airy draw on the tank or atomizer.

Nautilus BVC I typically run at 11-12 watts. The non-nautilus BVCs I run lower at 9W. I've found BTW that the non-nautilus BVCs tend to "spit" juice if run too hot especially on lower frequency PWM-based mods.
