I’m in the process of reviewing this product, so check back in a few days once I’ve completed my initial reviewing process.

If you really can't afford a new coil, try soaking that one in either Vodka (cheap is fine) or pure grain alcohol (Everclear as an example, I have seen other names but it will be 198 proof). I'm far from an expert on coils but can somebody explain to me the difference between these two coils? One of these coils has four holes and the other coil has one hole.

Different af and number of wires. How many setups do you rotate between ?

Letitia Citrus Junkie ECF Veteran

I stick with the one on the right the one with one hole I don't like the one with four holes. So I really don't rotate any coils I use the same coils all the time. Sometimes I rotate the whole mod and tanks out for different flavors.

As to coil life, keep in mind that darker juices and/or sweeter juices tend to reduce coil life faster than clear juices with low sweetness. If you vaped unflavored you would probably get a much longer lifespan, it just wouldn't be as tasty.

Are you asking about the number of coils inside the atty itself? The one you are using is just one heating element with cotton, the other (lower ohm) has 4 different heating elements, each having their own cotton wrapping. BIG difference.

Letitia Citrus Junkie ECF Veteran

So you are only using these coils about 1/3 of the time? That makes the 360 ml used in 3 months actually 120 ml over 3 months per coil.

Why does my subohm tank taste burnt?

If your are getting a burnt taste it is normally due to the coil needing to be replaced, or the cotton is not saturated enough. Generally with subohm tank coils they need to be primed first, to allow the cotton to properly saturate. You would normally dab juice on the visible cotton cut outs on the coil before installation, thereafter when filling, leave the device to sit for a few minutes to properly saturate. If the coil is old it could also be a cause. Most factory coils last generally a few days to a week, some longer. Gunk builds up on the coil, from old juice and sweetener, very sweet juice can gunk up a coil very quickly. If you have another change it out, but make sure you prime it first, to see if this could be the cause. Lastly look on the side of the coil, the wattage recommendations should be stated on it. If you're running it too high it will also cause a burnt taste, as you're vapourising juice faster than the cotton can absorb it. Generally coils will have a few variations to suit preferences, based on different ohms. If you're using a high VG blend of juice it could also be too thick to absorb quickly enough.

How long does it take for a vape to saturate?

However, if you do not prime your coil, it should take from 2 to 5 minutes (depending on the coil) to saturate. To keep from getting a dry hit, allow at least 5 minutes.

How does a vape pen work?

Two components turn the liquid in your pen to vape: a wire coil which is heated by the battery, and a cotton wick wrapped around (or passing through) the coil which absorbs the liquid for the coil to heat. The coil is too hot (lower the power setting on the pen). The wick is too dry (not enough juice flowing in).

There are two components in a vaping coil: the heating element and the wick.

Can you vape on a burnt coil?

You might get a bit of the burnt cotton in the juice, but not too much unless you’ve cremated it. If the coil is burning as you vape, it’s not good, but if you stop when you get the burn, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
