I was staying at a motel 6 the past weekend and I vaped in my hotel room the whole time when there was a smoke detector in the room and nothing happened. I even opened the door and windows to let some of the smoke out cause it was pretty smoky in there. I'd say your ok as long as you don't blow straight towards the smoke detector.

You have some good suggestions here, my favorite being the bathroom and shower cap, as long as you remember to remove it. If you don't want to risk it, I'm sure you can find a spot to hang out outside and have a vape.
