This combines to make vaping a serious challenge to your oral health. Not only does the habit weaken and destroy gum tissue, it also does the same to the jaw. This could lead to permanent tooth loss, troubling eating, or persistent oral pain.Jan 18, 2022

Hey guys, Ive been vaping now for about a week and it seems like i'm running into more and more problems. Today my jaw is hurting pretty bad because i'm trying to get a good draw but can't seem to do so. I can't even take a hard draw anymore. only very lightly so i don't add to the damage.

Yirabeth Senior Member ECF Veteran

Are you accidentally covering over the hole in the atomizer so you aren't able to take a smooth easy draw? It's amazing how much difference one little hole makes...hehe I was all confused as to why I suddenly couldn't vape at ALL when it had been going so smoothly......

xzavier1985 Senior Member ECF Veteran

I do like to cover one of the holes where the battery meets the atomizer. i feel that it produces alot more vapor. if i use the ecig without the tape i feel i have to suck twice as hard to get the same amount of vape .

Sexi Senior Member ECF Veteran

Give it one quick primer puff to heat the atomizer, then a nice slow 3-6 second drag, you should get a good hit with the hole left uncovered.

breakfastchef Moved On

If you are drawing so hard that it hurts your jaw, you are not getting the throat hit expereince you got from analog cigarettes. I understand your need. To me, vaping an e-cig is like sucking on an ultra-light analog and it was certainly not meeting my expectations.

wv2win ECF Guru ECF Veteran

I agree with breakfastchef, all good points. Before I got a Screwdriver, I used a 901 and felt the throat hit was very inconsistent. So I would hold my finger over the atomizer hole for a second or two, then let up and continue to inhale.

I am also new to vaping and have been doing it for about 4 days now and have the jaw pain as well. I think it is just an adjustment stage. The primer puff has worked great for me and everything is getting smoother now that I am starting to get used to the change.
