Vaping appears to increase the risk of ulcers by damaging the protective barrier that keep the stomach acid from coming into contact with the lining of the stomach. This damage can also lead to inflammation and bleeding. In addition, vaping also increases the production of stomach acid, further aggravating the condition.

Over time, nicotine use can lead to serious medical problems, including heart disease, blood clots and stomach ulcers.Jul 18, 2018

I've just been diagnosed with a ulcer.. I guess a fairly large one.. I know cigarettes are to be avoided for ulcers, but what about vaping?

I'd say snus is out. As for vaping (and remember I'm not a doctor) as long as you didn't swallow any liquid, I don't see it hurting anything. Even so, I think I'd start exhaling through the nose and NOT taking it in your lungs (yes this can be done).

Smoking is to be avoided as it robs your cells of necessary oxygen to aid in the recovery process. Vaping does not contain the same properties. I would double check with your Dr., but I do not see any reason it should be avoided. Remember to keep up your water intake!

Yep, drink lots of water. I also agree to consult your doc about vaping -I personally don't see how it could connect with an ulcer. Pardon me for asking, but do you drink alcohol much -alcohol definately can cause/contribute to a gastric ulcer -whatever you do, don't drink any alcohol...or soda, or anything acidic.

I've been diagnosed a couple of times in the past with ulcers, the first thing they told was to reduce the stress Second was to cut back on the smoking and spicy foods or anything with a high acidic content.

Totally treatable and NOT caused by vaping. Discuss it with your doctor and if they did not test you for H. pylori, then ask to be.

they did do a lot of blood tests, but never gave me antibiotics.. I still need to meet with my doc, hopefully soon...
