Setting your vape to a lower wattage is okay. You can still have a taste of the flavor of the juice, but not like the depth of flavors with a higher wattage. You can achieve a pretty decent vape experience at 10 watts.

It won't hurt anything in my opinion. Heck I have a .7 ohm coil and it is set at 13 watts for a real cool vape going on 1 1/2 weeks and haven't even had to change the wick yet still looks nice and white, but I am using unflavored at the moment so it does stay gunk free with that liquid.

Temp control attempts to keep a coil setup from "hot boxing" like a cigarette you take a bunch of quick drags from in a row. Watts does not.
